The Community Health Nurse Specialist, employed by Arkansas Department of Health and Human Services, functions in a collaborative role with Southwest Arkansas Educational Cooperative. Technical assistance is provided to the region’s school district nurses and community coalitions through education and policy guidance and school health advocacy, with special focus on Best Practices for Nutrition, Physical Activity, and No-Tobacco.
